The town was incorporated in 1906 and is located partially in Rush County (Union Township) and Partially in Fayette County (Orange and Fairview Townships). The town is 0.17 square miles in area. The population from the most recent census is 245. 

The town officers and employees strive to provide safe and efficient environment for town citizens. The goal is to promote Glenwood as a great family neighborhood.
